DOST, which is a specific way to accept applications from the eligible candidates who did their Intermediate or any equivalent course from the recognized board. For the first time, all the universities with in the state are accepting the applications from the students digitally through dost.cgg.gov.in website. I personally think we are on the right path to achieve digital India.
Previously, there are many steps to complete the application form to get the admission in various Degree colleges for different courses. But now, a candidate can go through the available options at dost.cgg.gov.in and can opt their preference according to the university by siting in front of the personal computer. Isn’t that cool?
Recently, concerned authorities had published a bulletin with the relevant dates of Degree Online Services, Telangana (DOST) for the academic year 2017 – 18. Till now there are no confusions about the released notification, and we suggest every student refer it before starting to fill up the Degree admission form online via dost.cgg.gov.in.
What actually means DOST?
Degree Online Services, Telangana is the full form of DOST. It means candidates who are interested in pursuing Undergraduate courses like B.A, B.Com, B.Sc, B.B.A etc in different colleges in Telangana that are affiliated to Osmania, Kakatiya, Telangana, Mahatma Gandhi, Satavahana and Palamuru Universities.
Once you know the eligibility criteria, proceed further to submit the DOST online application for UG admission within Telangana state.
Procedure to fill DOST Application
Basically, there are two categories.
- Board of Intermediate Education, Telangana (BIETS) and
- Non – BIETS
Registration of both categories are different and let me tell you in detail about them on how to get registered with DOST website at dost.cgg.gov.in.
DOST for BIETS Candidates
BIETS students are the one who completed their Intermediate from Telangana state after 2004. Here are the steps to them.
Step 1: First of all, you need to visit the MeeSeva or eSeva for Biometric verification. Once you give all the necessary details like Intermediate Hall Ticket number, a valid phone number, and the Aadhaar number, you will be issued a print out with a DOST token number. It starts with DATKN.
Step 2: This is the actual registration process. Visit dost.cgg.gov.in website and find the label with ‘Click here to payment for registration’ and then enter the DOST token number, Intermediate Hall Ticket number and the Aadhaar number. Now proceed to make the fee payment of Rs. 100. After successful payment, you will get an SMS to your registered mobile number at Me/eSeva with application number and password. It helps to login into the website for option entry.
Note: You just need to pay Rs. 100 for all the 6 universities.
Step 3: Now you need to fill the application form. As you are the BIETS candidates, all the necessary details will be completed for you. Some details like Caste and Income details need to be filled manually by the candidate. Check all the information once again and hit the ‘Submit’ button.
DOST for Non-BIETS Candidates
Non-BIETS students are the one who completed their Intermediate from other boards like CBSE or other state or before 2004.
Step 1: You need to first register with DOST by paying Rs. 100. Now you will get DOST ID and password. Using these details fill out the application form and submit it.
Step 2: Here comes the verification part. After the submission of DOST application, visit the helpline center HLC for document verification. After then you will receive DOST ID.
Step 3: Now comes the Biometric verification. Get the DOST ID generated in Step 2 to the nearest Me/eSeva with a valid mobile and Aadhaar number. Take the print out that consists of DOST application number that starts with DATKN.
